Waking up to listen to the world breathing heavily in pain is now a routine thing for all of us. The novel coronavirus has chained down economic growth and has engulfed thousands of lives and smiles. Waking up to listen to the world breathing heavily in pain is now a routine thing for all of us. The novel coronavirus has chained down economic growth and has engulfed thousands of lives and smiles. All we can do now is to become proactive in leashing down the spread rate of the COVID-19 virus and refrain it from affecting more masses.
No other time
would be better than now itself for the leaders to jump into the mankind vs.
novel coronavirus battle and protect millions of lives from being preyed by the
pandemic-causing virus.
Locking
down – Testing – Treatment and Vaccine, are the three sure-shot steps that will
give us complete ammunition to combat the deadly virus. It is the leaders' work
to efficiently implement the three aforesaid steps and troubleshoot the
problems on the go.
Let’s talk
about each of the three steps in detail.
“Cases doubling time has increased to 11 days, as
compared to 3.4 days after lockdown” – Health
Ministry of India.
Applying
brakes to the rapidly increasing coronavirus positive patients are the foremost
priority of the hour. Disobeying the requests issued by the health workers,
many countries are yet not completely locked down. As a result, public services
such as restaurants, parks, and much more are operational as they were before. And
the disease is being invited via public gatherings.
The leaders
should themselves be clear and also make it clear to the masses that social distancing
is the only and only way to keep the coronavirus away from us and our loved
ones. Also, lockdowns should be strictly incorporated by utilizing legal acts,
if required.
“India is aiming to perform 1 Lakh COVID-19
testing per day in the forthcoming months” – Indian
Council for Medical Research (ICMR).
There’s an
urgent need to speed up the COVID-19 testing across the globe to identify the
positive patients, and quarantining them to break the chain of further
infection spread to others from him or her. We can cite a notable move from
Rajasthan which has put forth a target of 10,000 coronavirus tests being carried out each day.
Along with
speeding up the test process, the countries should also focus on testing the
right people. The health workers, police forces, and the janitorial staff are
the most prone to get transformed into a dreaded virus-infected mass. So, these
people need to be tested more rapidly and heavily.
As the
clock ticks, the equilibrium between demand for testing and their conduction is
likely to get disturbed. Hence, more testing kits, laboratories, and health
staff would be in surging demand. The alternatives for testing technologies are
required to strike out a balance between the two parameters. Self-swab, saliva
tests, etc. are among the most sought-after innovations right now, which are
needed to be innovated and brought into use to quench the growing demand for
testing.
Finally, we
need to focus on treatments and vaccine inventions against COVID-19.
We saw in
the last few days, how the breaking of news for hydroxychloroquine being found
effective in curing COVID-19 patients, went eccentrically to the masses,
leading to stocking up of the drug by them for an emergency. The outcomes for
such a panic could be as drastic as the patients, who are in a dire need for
the drug to survive, would not be administered with its dosage causing innumerable
fatalities. The leaders are expected to extinguish the fire spread due to such
kind of rumors and prevent their further traversal.
A boon to
the entire mankind would be the invention of an effective vaccine against
COVID-19. The scientists and researchers are moving the Earth and Heaven to
come up with an efficient vaccine for combatting the fatal disease.
It’s never
too late. We still have time and ample opportunities to save mankind from
getting buried underneath the outbreak. Utilizing the most advanced
technologies, time management, and immediate reflexes, we can still take the
situation in our control, and get back to our daily routine and lives very
soon.
